Set to have its official unveiling early next month, Mazda has just released this new teaser image of its all-new 2016 MX-5. Over the past year we've seen several renderings of what the new two-seat roadster may look like, but that speculation will be put to rest. Mazda has made clear that the new MX-5 will look nothing like the outgoing model, and that its styling will be an evolution of the current Kodo design language. Underneath, the 2016 MX-5 will ride on an also new chassis.

Total weight will be reduced by around 220 lbs, but the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout will remain intact. So for now, this image will have to do, but all of our questions will be answered on September 3. Stay tuned.
