Back in May, Buick introduced the new Encore GX, slotting alongside the smaller Encore, Envision, and Enclave SUVs. Compared to the regular Encore, the GX offers five extra cubic feet of cargo space. If, however, this isn't an essential requirement for you, Buick is currently offering a very enticing deal for the regular 2019 Encore this month to help increase sales.

As reported by GM Authority, Buick's nationwide rebate saves you a generous 20 percent off the Encore's MSRP, which can add up to $5,000 in some cases. To be eligible, the offer is available for customers who don't currently own a GM product from the 2005 model-year or newer and are financing the purchase through GM Financial.

To give you an idea of how much you could save, the Encore Preferred trim's starting price is reduced from $26,870 down to $21,496 thanks to a $730 price reduction and a $4,644 purchase allowance, saving a total of $5,374. To take advantage of this offer, deliveries of the 2019 Ecore must be taken by September 30. The entry-level 1SV trim is also not included in the rebate, and the offer is not available with special finance, lease, and some other offers.

Sales of the Encore were up by five percent to 24,291 units in the second quarter of 2019 compared to Q2 2018, so Buick will want to retain this momentum with the rebate, especially after Q1 2019's slow sales.

This could also be your last chance to buy an Encore with an optional 1.4-liter turbocharged engine producing 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque as it will be scrapped from the 2020 model-year lineup. As standard, the Encore uses a less powerful 1.4-liter turbocharged engine producing 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, which is sent through a six-speed automatic to the front wheels. An AWD model is also available.
