Perhaps that's why Chevrolet is offering some attractive discounts this month for its HD trucks. And we're not talking about a couple of thousand bucks off, but rather nearly $12,000. Those interested in a 2019 Silverado 2500 HD can receive a series of discounts that add up to $11,466. With a $6,000 total cash allowance along with a $4,716 price cut below MSRP and $750 option package discount, one can drive home in a new 2019 Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab LTZ for $58,652 based on an MSRP of $70,118. Or, one can get $2,500 in customer cash for 2500 HD Crew Cab models, though both offers are only valid when financing with GM Financial.

Need the 2019 Silverado 3500 HD for all your hauling and towing needs? You can get up to $11,368 in discounts through similar price cuts, though it's only good for the Crew Cab High Country models and when financing with GM Financial (always read the fine print). The price now comes down from $70,840 to $59,472. There's also the same $2,500 customer cash allowance for all 3500 HD Crew Cabs. And like the 2500 HD offers, these are only valid through October 31.

What's interesting is that in previous months, Chevrolet has offered even bigger discounts for both HD trucks. Why is it less now? The most likely reason is because those previous discount programs worked and supply has since dwindled. Dealerships may also offer various other discounts so it's still important to shop around.

But if you're still keen to have the redesigned 2020 Silverado HD, then be prepared to pay more. Then again, you'll be getting a truck with new technologies and generally higher capabilities. It all depends on needs and budget.
