First introduced for the 2017 model year, the second-generation Honda Ridgeline has been updated with a raft of new standard features for the new 2019 model. Arriving in US dealerships with a starting price of $29,990 excluding $975 destination and handling for the entry-level 2WD RT version, Honda describes the 2019 Ridgeline as the "ultimate tailgate vehicle for sporting events, picnics, and other gatherings." This is thanks to what Honda is touting as industry-first and exclusive features.

These include a Dual Action Tailgate that provides easy access to the lockable and weather-sealed In-Bed Trunk, an available in-bed 115V AC power outlet, and the world's first Truck Bed Audio System. Inside, the high-quality cabin offers an array of standard and optional features and technologies. Among the standout optional extras include an 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, LED headlights, 3-zone automatic climate control, an 8-way powered driver's seat with adjustable lumbar support and ambient interior lighting.

For the 2019 model, the RT, Sport, and RTL models now include a second USB port like the range-topping models, while the RTL and RTL-T models add a power sliding rear window and moonroof. Powering the 2019 Ridgeline is a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission delivering 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel-drive models also utilize Honda's advanced Variable Torque Management technology, which Honda says enhances the pickup's all-weather performance and handling. Ideal for both recreational and professional users, Honda boasts that the Ridgeline features "the largest and most flexible cabin in the midsize pickup truck segment."

The mid-size pickup features up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity and a maximum of 1,584 pounds of payload capacity. All Ridgelines incorporate an Intelligent Traction Management System enabling up to four different operating modes: Normal, Snow, Mud and Sand for the AWD models, as well as Normal and Snow for 2WD vehicles. Honda's mid-size pickup is also the first, and so far, only, pickup to earn a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS, thanks to its comprehensive selection of advanced safety and driver-assists including a Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning. The automaker is confident that the 2019 Ridgeline will receive top safety ratings from the NHTSA and IIHS.
