Volvo will finally be lifting the wraps off the all-new S60 at the company's brand new factory in Ridgeville, South Carolina, tomorrow, which is where the model will be assembled. To generate hype for its world debut, the automaker has given us a final sneak peak at the stylish sedan as the teaser campaign comes to a close. Posted on social media, the final teaser photo shows the new S60 hiding under a sheet as preparations for the reveal event begin. It follows a series of teaser videos posted throughout the week showing the 2019 S60's fetching front fascia.
But let's face it, we already know exactly what the new S60 will look like. Essentially, it's going to resemble a downsized S90, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Volvo's designs may be starting to become predictable, but there's no denying the automaker has produced some stunning shapes lately. Volvo recently confirmed the range-topping S60 will be powered by an upgraded version of the traditional T8 Twin Engine hybrid system. Available exclusively to Volvo's 60 Series cars, the performance-focused S60 Polestar Edition will deliver 415 hp and 494 lb-ft of torque.
It will also sport numerous exterior enhancements to distinguish it such as gold-painted brake calipers and Öhlins shock absorbers, as well as a strut bar and adjustable shock absorber design taken from the Polestar 1 hybrid coupe. As for the rest of the range, engine options are expected to carry over from the XC60, but diesel options have been ditched for the first time in a new Volvo. We'll have to wait and see if Volvo's Audi A4 rival lives up to the hype tomorrow.
