Tired of seeing crossovers everywhere but you're still in need of a family vehicle capable of hauling around kids and cargo? Why not try a station wagon, and Volvo just so happens to have a sexy new one just arriving in showrooms. The 2019 Volvo V60 wagon, smaller than the V90, will carry an official base price of $39,895 with destination, according to the automaker. The mid-size luxury wagon can be had in two propulsion flavors: the base Momentum with its 250 hp turbocharged four-cylinder and front-wheel-drive, or the all-wheel drive T6 turbo and supercharged four with a total of 316 hp.

Upgrading to the R-Design for both variants adds $5,000 to the price, but you'll also be receiving "a more dynamic look," featuring high gloss black window trim, mirror caps and front grille.

There's also a metal mesh inlay in the unique R-Design steering wheel. Also included are Nappa leather sport seats and an R-Design leather wrapped gear shifter. The base Momentum trim for both engine options comes with Volvo's City Safety suite of safety tech, panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps with Volvo's signature Thor's hammer, aluminum inlays and a touchscreen system. There's also the T6-only Inscription trim for another $1,000 that tacks on bright chrome window trim and front grille accents, driftwood inlays, four-zone automatic climate control, and leather seats with four-way lumbar and power cushion extensions.

Compared to the also new S60 sedan, the base V60 wagon costs an additional $3,100. But what's kind of interesting is that the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain is not being offered in US market V60s, though that may change in the near future. Regardless, the most luxurious V60 you can buy, the T6 Inscription, costs a total of $50,395. Sound expensive? Well, it's not cheap, but it's still very competitive with pricing for most other premium mid-size crossovers.
