New range of M Performance parts will do the trick.
In rolling out the new X3 M and X4 M, BMW's performance division gave the compact crossovers more than a little dose of added visual aggression. But for those that don't find the treatment has gone far enough, the Bavarian automaker has come out with a range of M Performance parts for both models.
The catalog starts, as you might expect, on the outside of the vehicles, giving both the Sports Activity Vehicle and the slant-roofed Sports Activity Coupe an array of carbon-fiber accessories. Those include grilles, vents, and door sills, all made of the lightweight woven material.
The M Performance Pro steering wheel is rimmed in leather with large Alcantara-clad thumb grips, tricolor stitching, blue center mark, and carbon-fiber shift paddles, with additional carbon-trimmed shifter and velour floor mats. Special LED door-projector inserts beam a choice of graphics onto the pavement upon entry and exit. And there's a special wheel bags and Alcantara and carbon-fiber key case as well.
The parts can be added to either the "standard" X3 M and X4 M or the Competition versions of both. Neither could be considered a slouch, by any means. Released just a few months ago, the performance crossovers pack a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six good for 480 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, or 510 hp in the Competition models. Driving all four wheels an eight-speed automatic transmission, that's enough to propel what essentially amount of jacked-up hot hatches to 62 in as little as 4.1 seconds. And they'll look the part while doing it, too – with or without the add-ons.
