2020 Buick Enclave A Better Value Than The Cadillac XT6

And it is even kind to your behind with massaging seats.

The second-generation Buick Enclave debuted in the 2018 model-year and is now being refreshed for 2020. Output remains unchanged with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, the same unit found across the General Motors range, producing 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque going out through a nine-speed automatic transmission to front-wheel-drive or available Intelligent all-wheel-drive.

Thanks to its shared platform with the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia, the 2020 Envlace offers an affordable entry into the three-row luxury space with a reasonable starting price of $41,195, which is far less than the recently-revealed Cadillac XT6.

For 2020, Buick is introducing a new ST (Sport Touring) Package, which adds a body-colored grille surround, 20-inch wheels, and Satin Graphite pockets on top of the Enclave Essence trim level. Buick previously debuted the ST Package on the Regal Sportback and is now bringing the sporty design to the Enclave. The luxurious Avenir trim will continue to be offered in 2020 and now includes a color-matched lower panel and three new exterior colors; Champagne Gold Metallic, Rich Garnet Metallic (Avenir only), and Dark Moon Blue Metallic.

All 2020 Enclave models will receive Buick's next-generation infotainment system, housed on an eight-inch touchscreen. This new system now includes a high-definition Rear Vision Camera and Surround Vision system. Buick has also made four-way lumbar adjustment and massage functions standard on Premium and Avenir models.

"Buyers are choosing the Buick Enclave because it is everything they want in a premium crossover with its distinct styling, quality, and driving dynamics," said Phil Brook, vice president of Buick and GMC marketing. "For the 2020 model year, we're upping the comfort with available massaging seats, bringing in a new and different look for customers with Sport Touring and enhancing our in-vehicle technology to provide more of what these customers want."

It is pretty impressive to see Buick offer massaging seats on its three-row crossover when the more expensive Cadillac XT6 lacks this feature. Buick hasn't revealed a full pricing breakdown for the 2020 Enclave, but we expect the Premium and Avenir trim levels to remain close their prices for 2019 ($48,400 and $53,800 respectively). The 2020 Enclave will arrive at dealerships summer 2019.
