Which color would you choose for the new 2020 Hyundai Sonata?

The redesigned 2020 Hyundai Sonata finally broke cover last week at the 2019 New York Auto Show, but we're still waiting for the automaker to release pricing details and an online configurator for the sleek sedan. However, Hyundai has updated its website to show the eight exterior color options that will be available for the new Sonata when it goes on sale in the second half of this year.

Photos released by Hyundai showed the new Sonata finished in a bright shade of yellow, but it wasn't clear if this color will be available in the US. However, Hyundai's website confirms you'll be able to spec the 2020 Sonata in a color it calls Glowing Yellow, which should help the sedan stand out from its competitors that are usually available in more conservative colors.

Other eye-catching colors available for the new Sonata for those who want to stand out include Calypso Red and Stormy Sea. A subtle Quartz White finish is also available, along with Shimmering Silver Pearl, Hampton Gray, Portofino Gray, and Phantom Black.

Compared to its bland-looking predecessor, the 2020 Hyundai Sonata adopts a four-door coupe-style design inspired by the gorgeous Le Fil Rouge concept that debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It's also the automaker's first production model to embody Hyundai's Sensuous Sportiness design concept and features a short overhang, sloping roofline, and low deck lid.

The new Sonata will be sold in the US with two engine options, including a turbocharged 1.6-liter with 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a 2.5-liter engine with 191 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. Production of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata will start in Alabama this fall before sales start in October.
