Details of content and pricing changes for the 2020 Mazda3 hatchback and Mazda3 sedan were leaked recently but it appears the pricing was slightly off. Mazda has now released official pricing and information on the 2020 model year 3 and the good news is, the prices are only slightly higher than the 2019 model.

The 2020 Mazda3 will go on sale in the fall with a starting MSRP of $21,500. Mazda i-Activsense is now standard on the base trim and includes: driver attention alert, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, smart brake support, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, and high beam control.

Other standard features for the 2020 Mazda3 sedan include automatic on/off headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a matte-finished front grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, cloth seats, power-folding mirrors, and power windows with one-touch down/up. The hatchback is a bit more expensive at $23,700 but includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, leatherette seats, and dual-zone climate control. These features can also be had on the sedan if you opt for the $22,700 Select trim.

Upgrading to the Mazda3 Preferred trim - $24,200 for the sedan or $25,200 for the hatchback - adds a Bose premium 12-speaker audio system, aluminum speaker grilles, shark fin antenna, SiriusXM satellite radio, heated front seats, eight-way power driver's seat, power lumbar support, two-position driver memory system, and memory position door mirrors. AWD is also available as a $1,400 option.

Mazda3 Premium is the top trim - starting at $26,500 for the sedan or $27,500 for the hatchback - and adds a windshield-projected Active Driving Display, leather seats, power moonroof, LED lighting, adaptive front-lighting system, paddle shifters, and new 18-inch black wheels. As with the 2019 model year, the Premium hatchback with FWD is the only way to get a six-speed manual transmission. Depending on trim, the 2020 Mazda3 only sees a price increase of $100 to $500, which is worth it for all of the added safety features.
