The new Bad Boys For Life trailer confirms there will be lots of Porsche 911 product placement.
Back in September, the first trailer for 'Bad Boys For Life' was released, the first film in the action comedy series since Bad Boys II in 2003. Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Bad Boys For Life stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who will reprise their roles as wisecracking cops Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett.
The plot focuses on the team taking down the leader of a Miami drug cartel, but we all know it's just an excuse to feature some cool action scenes. Judging from the new trailer that's been released, Bad Boys For Life won't disappoint in the action department.
The first trailer gave us a brief look at Mike's new ride: a 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. In the new trailer, however, the sports car gets a more thorough workout. The trailer starts with clips of the Carrera 4S speeding through sun-drenched Miami streets, tail sliding around corners, performing reverse 180s, and narrowly avoiding civilian traffic much to Marcus's horror. As well as providing comedy and action, it's all done to show off the car's agility.
There's also some complementary product placement disguised as one-liners, as Will Smith's character brags how the 911 holds the road better than the Batmobile. And just to remind you he's driving the range-topping Carrera 4S model, there's a gratuitous close-up shot of the rear badge. Because product placement.
Since Porsche probably paid a fortune for the 911 to star in the movie, don't expect to see the Carrera 4S get damaged in any of the action scenes. With its 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 443 hp and 390 lb-ft, a 0-62 mph time of 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 190 mph, the duo should have no trouble outrunning any pursuers in the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S.
We'll get to see the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in action on the big screen when Bad Boys For Life releases in cinemas on January 17, 2020.
