Porsche updated the Macan compact crossover for the 2019 model year, but there was one trim level absent, the GTS. Fortunately, it's back for 2020 and the German automaker has just released official details and specs. The 2020 Porsche Macan GTS features all of the exterior and interior styling updates from last year along with more power than its immediate predecessor.

Its twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 now produces a total of 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 15 hp and 14 lb-ft over the 2017 GTS. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GTS, which stands for "Gran Turismo Sport", is also more powerful than the current Macan S, which boasts a total of 348 hp and 354 lb-ft. Meanwhile, the Macan Turbo has 434 hp and 406 lb-ft.

Porsche claims the Macan GTS can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, or 4.5 seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono package. Top speed is 162 mph. Other standard features include an adaptive air suspension which can raise the SUV by 10 mm, 14.2-inch brake rotors up front and 13-inch units at the rear, 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels, and a sport exhaust system.

Bigger carbon-ceramic brakes measuring 15.6-inches and 14.6-inches front/rear are optional. The exterior also receives some special treatment by way of black painted accents, and black-tinted headlights and taillights. The Porsche Dynamic Light System includes LED headlights and taillights.

Step inside and you'll find plenty of Alcantara trim and brushed aluminum trim throughout along with eight-way power-adjustable sports seats. There's an optional interior package featuring leather with Carmine Red or Chalk stitching, Bose Surround Sound system, and a new smartphone tray with inductive charging. Other features include Park Assist with Surround View, a heated windshield, and ionizer.

Set to arrive in dealerships next summer, the 2020 Porsche Macan GTS begins at $71,300, plus a $1,350 destination charge.
