We're still waiting for the next-generation Volkswagen Golf R to arrive; VW's new hardcore hatchback was expected to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this month, but since the event was canceled, the Golf R's reveal has likely been delayed until later this year, possibly at the newly-announced Goodwood Speedweek. If you can't wait until then, German tuner Oettinger has developed a sporty body kit for the eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf that enhances the car's styling and aerodynamics.

To give the new Golf a sportier look, the tuner has fitted a new front spoiler that reduces lift, along with new side skirts that make the hatchback look more visually striking.

In addition, the custom Volkswagen Golf features a new three-part diffuser lip with a removable middle section to allow access to the tow hook, and a new roof spoiler. Every component is painted in gloss black including the diffuser lip, but can also be painted to match or contrast the car's exterior color. All parts have also been extensively tested in a wind tunnel.

Oettinger's custom Golf sits on 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black from the Volkswagen Accessories range. The upgrades are subtle, but they help give the standard Golf a sportier look. The tuner hasn't tinkered under the hood, however, so don't expect any power upgrades.

In stock form, the eight-generation Volkswagen Golf is offered with a range of gasoline, diesel, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains including a 1.5-liter producing up to 150 hp. The standard eighth-generation Golf won't be sold in the US, however, which means America's entry-level Golf is going to be the new Golf GTI when it arrives, which packs a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four generating 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Leaked documents suggest the new Golf R will have an increased output of 328 hp.

Oettinger's Volkswagen Golf aerodynamic upgrades will be available from official Volkswagen partners this summer. The tuner has also hinted that similar upgrades will be available for the Golf GTi.
