So we've seen images of the all-new Buick Envision which General Motors announced for the US and China earlier this year, but what we haven't seen is exactly what the interior of this premium SUV will look like. Until now. New photos shared by GM in China reveal the interior of the 2021 Buick Envision including the top of the range Avenir trim level, as well as trims lower down in the range. The Buick SUV will be sold under the Envision moniker in the US, while the Chinese model will know it as the Envision S.

Now that Buick has done away with sedans such as the Regal, it can now point its focus squarely on its SUV offering, and if the images are anything to go by, the new Envision is going to be a truly premium offering.

From the pictures, we can tell that Buick in its infinite wisdom has decided to continue with the brand's latest interior design language which is characterized by a unique asymmetric look, which goes against everything German brands such as BMW and Audi stand for. We like it. What is most striking is the large infotainment display screen which is embedded at an 18-degree slope towards the driver's side. This will be a boon for readability and ergonomics.

Looking at the dashboard we can see that it has been split into two main sections: the infotainment display, instrument panel, and exterior vents are all molded into the top half, while climate and vehicle controls slot into the bottom half. The air vents are also divided into two sections, and as a whole, it gives off a cool 'floating' look.

What is possibly the most distinctive characteristic of the new dash layout is the fact that it splits the driver and front passenger sections, almost like an A80 Toyota Supra. Besides the obvious dashboard divide, there's also a single armrest that gets divided into two sections. In front of the armrest sits the gear selector which uses a series of triggers and buttons, and is an exact copy of what you'd find in the Chinese-market Enclave. Interior finishes include Ivory White and Jazz Black.

The cabin of the 2021 Envision will be able to comfortably carry five adults, and there are more than 20 storage spaces scattered around the interior. In the pictures, a large panoramic roof opens up the interior space even further and is reportedly the largest of its kind in this segment. The all-new Envision goes on sale in late 2020 in China, and early 2021 in North America.
