The all-new Cadillac Escalade will be introduced at the Oscars by Spike Lee.
We're now less than two weeks away until the world debut of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade, and so Cadillac's teaser campaign is ramping up. After giving us a glimpse of the hi-tech interior, Cadillac has released a new teaser photo previewing the new Escalade's redesigned front-end.
We get to see the new Escalade's large grille, which features the SUV's signature chrome bars across the front. In contrast to the current Escalade, however, the headlights are positioned horizontally, mimicking the design of the Cadillac XT6, and there are also slim vertical LED daytime running lights.
Cadillac has also announced the 2021 Escalade will be introduced by Spike Lee at the Oscars on February 4 and star in a short film he directed called "Anthem." According to Cadillac, the film "captures the presence, innovation and movement of the next-generation Escalade, with reverence for its more than two decades as a cultural icon."
"I'm honored to be part of the next generation of the Escalade, which embodies style, luxury and prestige conveyed without pretension," said Lee.
"As one of the greatest storytellers and most creative filmmakers of his time, Spike Lee's unique perspective is the perfect conduit for sharing the passion and spirit of the 2021 Escalade," said Steve Carlisle, Cadillac president. "It is an icon reimagined."
Among the features that will be highlighted in the film include the new Escalade's industry-first curved OLED screen, which has a 38-inch display and "the largest color range of any automotive display in production today".
Unfortunately for Cadillac, the new Escalade has already leaked. These leaked photos showed a different grille design mimicking the XT6 and new CT5, however, so they could be different trim levels, as well as a radically different interior that looks more luxurious. Stay tuned for more details when the 2021 Cadillac Escalade officially breaks cover on February 4.
