The Chevrolet Colorado received a mild facelift for 2021. However, apart from revealing some cosmetic changes, Chevy didn't give too much away about its pickup. We later learned about some slight price increases and the discontinuation of the Base Extended Cab. And today, thanks to information obtained by GM Authority, we discover that there will be three new appearance packages: WT Appearance Package (PCZ), Custom Special Edition (WGV), and Chrome Appearance Package (WC3).

Looking at them more closely, the WT Appearance Package will be offered on the Work Truck 4x2 and 4x4 variants, though it can only be purchased by fleet companies or governments. It features body-color door handles and mirrors.

Next is the Custom Special Package, which will also be available in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations and a choice of either the 2.5-liter inline-four or 3.6-liter V6. Special features here include a body-colored grille and 18-inch Dark Argent Metallic cast aluminum wheels wearing all-season tires.

Lastly, there's the Chrome Appearance Package which, as you've already guessed, is all about chrome. It will be offered for the LT 4x2 and 4x4 variants and comes with chrome covering the grille, door handles, rear bumper, and beltline molding. Owners will also benefit from outside heated and power-adjustable, manual-folding mirrors with chrome caps.

For now, official pricing has not been announced, nor have any new images been released, though all of this is expected to change very soon. The 2021 models will be arriving in dealerships in the coming few months.

Also, the 2021 GMC Canyon, the Colorado's slightly more upscale corporate twin, will be updated with a new AT4 off-road trim, which replaces the All Terrain, and a refreshed Denali trim featuring even more luxurious touches.

But in general, will the Colorado's updates be enough to fight back against the Ford Ranger, which has recently experienced a major sales surge? Will they also be enough to combat the also hot-selling Jeep Gladiator? Answers should come soon enough.
