Chrysler's decision to launch an AWD version of the Pacifica was so well received, it decided to launch it one model year early. Originally, the AWD Pacifica was planned for the 2021 model year, but Chrysler launched the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica AWD Launch Edition to entice customers. This model was only available on the Touring L trim, but the AWD system is now available for all gasoline-powered Pacificas for the 2021 model year including Touring, Touring L, Limited and Pinnacle trims.

If wheels lose traction, Chrysler's advanced AWD system can automatically transfer 100 percent of the available engine torque to the wheels with more traction.

In addition to the AWD system, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica's exterior has received a refresh with SUV-inspired styling cues including a more striking 3D diamond-style grille with Gloss Black painted upper grille accents and a bright chrome grille surround. LED headlights are now fitted as standard, while the taillights now run across the entire width of the rear.

Inside, the cabin is updated with FCA's new Uconnect 5 system featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen that's nearly 20 percent larger than the previous system and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A seven-inch digital cluster is also included along with a soft-touch instrument panel with accent stitching that now comes as standard.

For added convenience, fast-charging USB-C ports have been added. There's also a new wireless charging pad. A new range-topping Pinnacle trim adds platinum chrome exterior trim and wheels, a suede headliner, nappa leather seats, two quilted lumbar comfort pillows for the second-row captain's chairs, satin chrome-plated seat controls and sliding door handles, and a best-in-class storage capacity of 227.6 liters.

Under the hood, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is offered with a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine producing 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque paired with a nine-speed automatic, while the Pacifica Hybrid has 260 hp and provides an all-electric range of 30 miles. Pricing for the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has not been announced yet.
