The all-new Ram TRX just set an insane benchmark for performance pickup trucks. With 702 horsepower on tap, the truck takes less than four seconds to hit 60 mph, helping it obliterate the F-150 Raptor in a drag race. A new and improved Raptor model based on the recently-revealed 2021 Ford F-150 is incoming, but before it's announced, aftermarket tuner Hennessey has its own solution to the TRX problem.

The Texas-based tuner has revealed the 2021 Hennessey Venom 800 Supercharged, based on a 2021 F-150 Platinum Edition Super Crew. Hennessey says the donor truck uses Ford's 5.0-liter V8 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission rather than an EcoBoost motor. Though the Coyote V8 is less powerful from the factory than the turbocharged V6, Hennessey found a way to make the Venom 800 Supercharged its most powerful Ford truck ever.

To make this such a solid performer, Hennessey Performance Engineering bolted on a 3.0-liter supercharger system producing eight psi of boost pressure. The V8 also benefits from a high-flow cold air induction system, upgraded fuel injectors, upgraded fuel pump system, stainless steel exhaust system, E85 flex-fuel sensor, and chassis dyno engine calibration. With all of these upgrades, power more than doubles from 400 hp to 805 hp at 6,200 rpm and 727 lb-ft at 4,100 rpm. That's over 100 hp more than the Ram TRX, though it is worth noting that these numbers only come on E85 fuel.

"We've only used our Venom trademark on a small number of very special vehicles in the 29-year history of our company," said Founder and CEO John Hennessey. "We feel that the new F-150 with our 805 bhp Supercharged upgrade is worthy of the Venom name."

The Venom 800 Supercharged should keep up with a TRX in a drag race, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and completing the quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds at 116 mph. It should be able to stop, too, with Brembo six-piston calipers and massive 15.1-inch cross-drilled steel rotors. The truck should also fair pretty well off-road thanks to 35-inch all-terrain tires, an off-road suspension system, upgraded shocks with external reservoirs, and a six-inch lift kit.

Visual enhancements include a special grille, LED lights, and exterior badging. With a 2021 Ford F-150 Platinum 4X4 Super Crew truck donor car included, the price is $149,500 plus delivery. The truck also comes with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty. Only 100 units will be built for the 2021 model year, with deliveries beginning in Q2 2021.
