Lexus has been having a busy year developing new designs and releasing countless special editions. The LC500 has especially been in the spotlight with new variants being offered, but now it's the turn of the UX hybrid compact SUV. The new variant of the 2021 UX 250h is called the UX Premium Sport Edition, and it's a pretty good-looking thing. Sporty styling accents make it more striking from the outside while the interior boasts a simple but stylish upholstery finish. This new model is more than just an appearance package though, as added standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, as well as navigation.

On the outside, the new model adds gloss black finishes to the spindle grille mesh and frame, five-spoke 18-inch wheels, door mirror caps, roof rails, and headlight shrouds. Inside, the black theme continues with black Tahara upholstery. Tahara is Lexus's own kind of synthetic leather. You also get the same preexisting features already included, like heated seats, rear privacy glass, parking sensors at either end of the car, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. This makes it a particularly attractive offering, but what you're likely most interested in is price. The Lexus UX 250h Premium Sport Edition is currently on sale in the UK for £33,195, £850 more than the Premium Pack model. That works out to around $44,147 or $1,130 more than the Premium model.

Sadly though, the price doesn't really matter as there's no indication from Lexus that this model is destined for the US Considering that the UX SUV recently got a price bump, a new and affordable offering with added standard equipment would be welcome, but at this point, we have to make do with the regular models we currently have. Fortunately, America is getting its own special edition for 2021 in the form of the Lexus UX Black Line.

Nevertheless, we find ourselves less and less enthused by special editions when new ones are launched seemingly every week, especially from Lexus. All we really want is a new version of the LFA, or at least something that is as exciting as that car was.
