Mazda has added a turbocharged engine option to three of its 2021 vehicles. The Mazda3 Sedan and Hatchback received the engine first, followed by the 2021 Mazda CX-30 just a few months ago. Called the CX-30 2.5 Turbo, this new variant offers the same 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in its sedan and hatchback counterparts, as well as the Mazda6, CX-5, and CX-9. Mazda has now released official pricing and packaging information for the CX-30, and the news is positive.

The 2021 Mazda CX-30 2.5 Turbo starts at $29,900, making it the same price as the Mazda3 Sedan 2.5 Turbo but less expensive than the Mazda3 Hatchback 2.5 Turbo, which costs $1,000 more. Like those cars, the CX-30 comes well-appointed in the Turbo trim, but some packages are required to make it even more premium.

The CX-30 2.5 Turbo includes an 8.8-inch infotainment display running Mazda Connect with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mazda Connected Services with a three-year trial and an in-car Wi-Fi hot spot for six-months or 2GB. Other standard features include keyless entry, an eight-speaker sound system, dual USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air conditioning vents, a rearview camera, rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, a power moonroof, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. On the exterior, 18-inch black wheels, a gloss black front grille, gloss black mirrors, and a "TURBO" badge alert passersby of the potent engine under the hood.

As with other Mazda models that use this engine, the CX-30 2.5 Turbo produces 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when running on premium fuel. On regular gas, it produces 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque going out to i-Activ all-wheel-drive through a six-speed automatic transmission.

Stepping up to the Premium Package brings the price to $32,300. It adds a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, leather seats, a power liftgate, windshield-projected Active Driving Display, traffic sign recognition, adaptive front-lighting, and navigation.

The top Premium Plus Package is only available on the turbo models, starting at $33,900. This package adds i-Activsense safety features such as smart city brake support reverse, rear cross-traffic braking, traffic jam assist, enhanced radar cruise control, and a 360-degree monitor.
