Europeans will get to experience America's coolest new truck.
Four years after the original concept was revealed, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX made its triumphant debut this week, and it was certainly worth the wait. In America, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will go on sale later this year, but it won't just be US customers having all the fun.
AEC Europe, the official importer of Ram and Dodge models in Europe, has confirmed the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will be imported and distributed in Europe. AEC Europe is currently testing and working on adaptations to ensure the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX can comply with EU regulations. Once this has been approved, deliveries for Ram's Ford F-150 Raptor fighter will begin in December 2020.
Due to the growing demand for high-performance pickups in Europe, AEC Europe has a "very optimistic outlook" for the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX's European launch and expects it to be an extremely popular model. In Europe, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will be available through AEC's official dealer network of over 125 partners.
In the US, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX starts at $69,999, although a fully loaded version will set you back over $100,000. AEC Europe hasn't announced how much the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will cost, but import taxes mean there will likely be a significant premium. Anyone who does manage to import the 2021 Ram TRX will be the owner of the fastest and most powerful pickup truck in the world.
Power is provided by a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine producing a whopping 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends that colossal power to all four wheels. With this setup, the potent pickup will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds and max out at 118 mph. For comparison, the Ford F-150 Raptor produces 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque from a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6. Ford also recently confirmed the 2021 Bronco won't be available in Europe since the rugged off-roader was designed specifically for the North American market.
