Just this week, our spy photographers spotted the upcoming 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan facelift undergoing testing. The popular SUV had some subtle camouflage applied to disguise the design details. However, this latest photo posted on Instagram shows the newly updated Tiguan cruising the streets completely undisguised. It isn't known where the photo originated from, but we suspect the 2021 Tiguan was posing for an official promotional photoshoot.

This isn't the first time the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan has been spied with no camouflage, but this time we get a very clear look at the updated SUV's revised front fascia.

Compared to the outgoing model, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan has been updated with new LED headlights and LED matrix daytime running lights inspired by the lights on the new 2020 Volkswagen Golf. Elsewhere, a larger grille features three prominent chrome slats and the front bumper has also been updated.

We can also see VW's new corporate logo on the front. This doesn't appear to be the standard Tiguan, however, as the prominent front air intakes, chrome accents, and large alloy wheels indicate we're probably looking at the sporty R-Line version.

We still haven't seen the rear of the 2021 Tiguan with no camouflage, but this week's spy shots show some subtle changes including updated LED tail lights and a new bumper. Likewise, the cabin also hasn't been revealed yet, but the 2021 Tiguan could have an updated infotainment system and new safety tech added to the standard equipment list.

Under the hood, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan utilizes the same mild-hybrid tech as the 2020 Golf, but this hasn't been confirmed yet. If VW is already shooting promotional material for the 2021 Tiguan, an official reveal should be imminent. There's a strong chance the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan will debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show next month. If so, VW should make an official announcement very soon.
