After the Cadillac CT6-V was discontinued, we were left wondering what will happen to its Blackwing V8 engine. What we do know, however, is that the Blackwing name will live on in new high-performance versions of the Cadillac CT4-V and Cadillac CT5-V. Now, Cadillac is teasing the new CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing by giving us a glimpse of the new performance steering wheel you'll be gripping onto when putting these two sports sedans through their paces.

The wheel is wrapped in leather and features a 12 o'clock red racing stripe, carbon fiber trim and a V-Series emblem. Cadillac says this design ensures that "each vehicle reflects Cadillac's championship-winning heritage on the track."

For easy access, the button to activate the V-Mode is positioned on the left side of the wheel, while the Performance Traction Management system button can be accessed on the right side of the wheel.

While Cadillac hasn't confirmed performance specifications yet, the speedometer in the teaser photo reads 200, implying the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be capable of hitting, and possibly exceeding, 200 mph. In contrast, the regular Cadillac CT5-V tops out at 155 mph. The teaser also confirms the Cadillac CT5-V's analog dials will be upgraded to a digital display in the new Blackwing.

The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing will most likely use the same 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 as the ATS-V. In the ATS-V, this unit produces 464 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque, while the more powerful CT5-V Blackwing will reportedly get the CTS-V's 6.2-liter V8, which is expected to produce around 670 hp.

Both models will also be offered with a six-speed manual transmission. Cadillac has confirmed the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will go on sale in summer 2021, so expect plenty of more teasers from Cadillac between now and then. We can't wait to find out more.
