The Ford Bronco is proving to be a seriously popular model for the manufacturer with demand set to increase even more thanks to the Everglades and performance Raptor models. Unfortunately for those who want to get their hands on a 2022-spec trim, dealers will stop taking orders for these cars by March 7.

To make things worse, it now appears that the 2022 models will be seeing a price jump for the remaining week that they are available until the 2023 model year order books open. Based on a bulletin sourced by a member of the Bronco6g forum, it looks like all models will see an increase of about five to six percent, depending on which trim is selected.

For the two-door model, the Base, Black Diamond, and Outer Banks will increase by $1,780 and the Badlands and Wildtrak by $2,280. The Big Bend will see a slightly smaller increase of $1,770. The four-door range suffers from a slightly smaller increase of $1,530 for the Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, and Outer Banks. The Badlands and Wildtrak will increase by $2,030.

The bulletin adds that customers who placed a reservation on 2021 models before March 24, 2021, that are still outstanding, will now receive a 2022 model year with the advantage of price protection. Price protection certificates have already been issued to eligible customers but these do not consider increases made to mid-2022 model year cars.

These price increases are in the four figures but considering that existing consumers are already paying markups just to get into the driver's seat of a Bronco, these price hikes may not see much of a dent in orders being placed.

Once the books open up for 2023, it is likely that the struggle to fulfill demand will continue as the supply chain crisis affecting the semiconductor stock is still outgoing. The Bronco has suffered from this tremendously with its Michigan plant being forced to a halt just earlier this month. Those who placed orders for cars last year are also showing signs of frustration as near-complete models pile up outside of this facility as they await the crucial chips.
