Over the years, Hennessey has developed a reputation for creating some truly ludicrous vehicles. The Texas-based maker of hypercars has also teased a six-seater called Project Deep Space - powered by six electric motors.

The firm's Ford F-150 Raptor-based truck is a touch more down-to-earth, but that's not saying much when it comes to Hennessey. Dubbed the VelociRaptor 600, the company has limited production to just 250 units for the 2022 model year.

A mountainous 565 horsepower and 672 lb-ft of torque live under the tall hood of this off-roading monster. These immense figures send the heavy pick-up truck to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, passing the quarter-mile mark in just 12.9 seconds.

Hennessey pitched the new and improved VelociRaptor 600 against the original Raptor and the performance enhancements are plain to see.

The additional 162 lb-ft rockets the Hennessey variant off the line with gusto, leaving the stock model in its wake. In the end, it finishes six truck lengths ahead of the less-powered truck. "The VelociRaptor has been our most popular vehicle for years, so with the production of the third-gen truck now underway, we're anticipating building hundreds of models throughout 2022. The stock Raptor is a fabulously capable and very quick machine, so our customers love that we can enhance its power and performance to new levels," said company CEO John Hennessey.

To give the Raptor an even more imposing look, VelociRaptor front and rear bumpers (with integrated LED lights), a suspension leveling kit and 37-inch off-road tires are optional. Additionally, 20-inch Hennessey wheels can be selected. A pick-up truck as fast as this requires the very best stopping power, so we'd recommend customers opt for the six-piston Brembo front brakes.

Hennessey notes, traditionally, the majority of owners opt for the performance upgrade and off-road package, which raises the price to $115,000. Of course, this price includes the stock F-150 Raptor. The VelociRaptor 600 will make its debut at the Barrett Jackson collectible car auction on January 22, with customer deliveries commencing shortly thereafter.
