Jeep's Xtreme Recon Package just got more affordable.
If you want a Jeep Wrangler that rides on massive 35-inch tires without resorting to aftermarket modifications, equipping the Xtreme Recon Package takes the off-roader's capability to the next level. However, there is now a cheaper way to get a Jeep Wrangler with 35-inch tires from the factory. Previously, Jeep's Xtreme Recon Package was only available for the Wrangler Rubicon and Wrangler 392, but it's now also available for the more affordable Wrangler Willys.
Presented at the 2021 Detroit 4Fest, the 2022 Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme Recon Package gains standard 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires wrapped around 17-inch beadlock capable wheels. A suspension lift kit with uniquely tuned shocks raises the right height by 1.5 inches and four-wheel-disc performance brakes are also included as standard.
Visually, the military-inspired 2022 Jeep Wrangler Willys stands out thanks to its standard black grille, matte black Jeep badge, black "Trail Rated" badge, "4-Wheel Drive" swing gate decal, and "Willys" hood decal.
With the Xtreme Recon Package installed, the ground clearance of the Jeep Wrangler Willys increases to 12.9 inches. It also has an impressive approach angle of 47.4 degrees, a breakover angle of 26.7 degrees, a departure angle of 40.4 degrees, and can wade through water up to 33.6 inches deep.
This matches the capability of the Rubicon Xtreme Recon Package without leaving a huge dent in your wallet. Pricing for the 2022 Wrangler Willys with Xtreme Recon Package starts at $39,435 plus a $1,495 destination charge. Alternatively, it can be equipped as a standalone package for $3,995.
"The new Jeep Wrangler Willys with Xtreme Recon Package gives our passionate customers another great option for straight-from-the-factory 35-inch tires," said Jim Morrison, Vice President of Jeep North America. "Named after the original Jeep utility vehicle, the Willys holds special meaning to the Jeep brand, and we're excited to enhance the new Wrangler Willys with 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 tires."
