Porsche is adding three new models to its already massive Panamera lineup, which now includes 21 starting points, if you count the Sport Turismo. For 2022 three Platinum Edition models will be available on the Panamera, Panamera 4 and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. According to Porsche they'll get a higher level of standard features focused on comfort, hence the absence of any S or Turbo models.

Platinum Edition trims will start with 21-inch Exclusive Design Sport Wheels painted in Satin Platinum. Buyers can also choose 20s if they desire. The grilles are painted in the same colors as the wheels, as is the Porsche lettering in back.

LED Matrix Design headlights with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System are standard, as are automatic high beams. The side window trims and sport exhaust tailpipes are in black, and the taillights get a unique look as well. The Platinums won't just be available in gray, as 13 standard colors are on offer, along with four optional hues or the company's Custom Color portfolio.

Inside the special versions will get aluminum door sill guards with "Platinum Edition" lettering. It matches with the black-brushed aluminum around the cabin and the four embossed headrests with the Porsche logo. Soft close doors and 14-way seats are standard, as are front and rear heated seats, four-zone climate control and front seat ventilation. Porsche's sixth-gen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and satellite radio is standard.

Though the power outputs are the same, 325 hp for the Panamera and Panamera 4, 455 hp for the E-Hybrid, the Platinums do come with Porsche's adaptive air suspension, Porsche Active Suspension Management with varying ride heights, blind spot monitoring and Power Steering Plus, which makes the steering one-finger easy at parking lot speeds.

The 2022 Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition starts at $103,250 including destination. That's a $13,500 surcharge over the base model, but with the Platinum, you're basically starting with a luxury trim, minus the engine. The Panamera 4 Platinum adds $4,100 for all-wheel drive. The most expensive is the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Platinum, which will start at $116,550. Porsche says the new models should land at US dealers in the spring of 2022.
