A $750 premium has been applied across the range.
The Acura RDX has been updated for the 2023 model year, and while the styling remains unchanged, the premium brand has blessed the SUV with several updates. Buyers can now look forward to three years of AcuraLink services, which include Security and Remote packages, free of charge.
AcuraLink enables owners to control various vehicle functions through a smartphone app, send commands to the vehicle via Alexa, and more. Other nifty features include automatic collision notification and emergency call capabilities. But the biggest news comes in the form of the new complimentary maintenance plan.
For 2023, RDX buyers are privy to the Acura Maintenance Package. The two-year/24,000-mile (whichever comes first) plan covers scheduled maintenance, like oil and filter changes, tire rotation, and multi-point inspections. Maintenance must be completed at a participating Acura dealership, but the plan is transferrable to owners while still active.
While it's a great addition to the RDX, Acura's offering is beaten by a close rival. Infiniti Premium Care offers three years of complimentary servicing. What's more, your nearest Infiniti service center will collect the car and return it once complete. Both companies should be applauded for offering this valuable program to customers.
Of course, these additions don't come cheap. The RDX lineup is costlier than before, and all variants have been slapped with a $750 premium over last year's pricing. The entry-level model still represents impressive value at $41,350. The RDX Technology Package and A-Spec models command $44,000 and $47,000, respectively. All-wheel drive is available on the aforementioned models for an additional $2,200.
The RDX Advance Package ($51,350) and RDX A-Spec with Advance package ($53,350) are the most expensive models and are only available with all-wheel drive. The prices mentioned here don't include the $1,195 destination and handling fee.
If you're wondering why the 2023 RDX update is so brief, it's because Acura refreshed the model extensively in 2022. Along with a fresh face and new technology, the brand's best-selling model also offered buyers improved refinement and comfort. Even the suspension was retuned for a plusher ride.
On the tech front, the RDX benefitted from wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as built-in Amazon Alexa. It may be as polished as its ever been, but it faces stiff competition from the recently updated NX SUV. Only time will tell whether the RDX remains competitive for the coming model year.
