The wait is nearly over. A week from this coming Tuesday is the official reveal of the new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. This track-tuned, fully street-legal is the C8 Vette aimed directly at the likes of the Porsche 911 GT3. Needless to say, expectations are incredibly high.

Last week, Chevy provided some details about the big day, specifically the time and that it can be watched via a livestream from anywhere. What wasn't announced was where the event itself will be taking place. We now have that information: the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California. Those at the live event will be to check out the car on display once the reveal ceremony ends.

And if you happen to be in the area, the general public will also be able to see the new Z06 in the flesh on display from October 265 through October 29. Tickets can be purchased online at the museum's official website for $17 per person. Because it's California, a negative Covid test or proof of vaccination will be required for entry.

Even though it's an invite-only reveal event, we highly suggest watching the livestream because there will be a panel discussion with Z06's designers, engineers, and other GM top brass. They intend to "put the world on notice" with their latest creation. McLaren and Porsche are being formally warned. Chevy has already begun to release official images but we have yet to see any interior shots.

Expect the interior layout to generally remain the same as that of the Stingray with the exceptions of new seats, steering wheel, and other Z06-specific trim elements. A greater use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber and Alcantara is guaranteed.

Brand officials haven't confirmed engine details just yet but it's highly likely there'll be a flat-plane crankshaft 5.5-liter V8 with dual overhead camshafts sourced from the C8.R racecar. It's no secret the exterior will boast extensive aerodynamic upgrades such as a huge rear spoiler, which could be optional. A set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires should be standard. In any case, full details are just around the corner. Stay tuned.
