The all-new Ford Super Duty series was revealed in September, and the Blue Oval was quick to point out the new 6.8-liter V8 engine and towing technology but failed to mention key details like power outputs and payload capacity. That's finally been revealed and, based on what we've seen, we're guessing people will be queuing around the block to order the F-250.

As per Ford Authority, it seems order books for the Super Duty Series have already opened up, with prospective customers able to express interest and order a vehicle from 27 October. Initially, Ford was only expected to start accepting orders in the middle of November, but it seems the Blue Oval was able to open the books up early.

Regardless of what Super Duty you require - a bare-bones F-250 or a fully-loaded F-450 - it appears the automaker will be able to accommodate your needs and honor your purchase request. It's interesting that Ford was able to bring the order date forward, as the automotive industry is still mired in a global parts shortage, brought on by supply chain issues.

But even if you place an order today, don't expect to get your hands on an example anytime soon. Ford has said the trucks will only arrive at dealerships in early 2023. There are myriad models to choose from, but pricing starts at $43,970, although this figure can be more than doubled if you choose a plush variant with plenty of options.

As mentioned, the completely redesigned Super Duty comes with significant improvements. The aforementioned 6.8-liter V8 is now standard fitment and should provide adequate performance thanks to outputs of 405 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. If, however, that doesn't meet your needs, there's also a 7.3-liter V8 with 430 hp and 483 lb-ft.

You'll have to upgrade to the mighty 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8 for the strongest figures, though. The turbocharged mill produces 475 hp and a mountainous 1,050 lb-ft. Upgrading to the High Output iteration boosts those numbers to a class-leading 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft.

In August, the Blue Oval opened order books for its popular EV, the 2023 model year Mustang Mach-E, yet not long thereafter, orders for popular grades were suspended. We don't expect the Super Duty to sell quite as quickly but, to avoid disappointment, it's best to get your order in early.
