Last month, the covers were taken off the 2023 Kia Soul. Along with some subtle-but-effective styling tweaks, the new model arrived with a new engine lineup that ditched the Turbo derivative. But what does it cost to get into this cute new car? If other 2023 arrivals like the Carnival are anything to go by, we can expect excellent value for money. But we no longer need to speculate as Kia has revealed exactly what the 2023 lineup will cost. The bad news is that there are increases across the range, but the good news is that these price hikes are minor.

Compared to 2022 pricing, when the entry-level model got a big price hike, the base Soul LX has increased by only $600, now setting you back $19,790. The Soul S is a little dearer still, increasing by $800 from $21,490 for the 2022 model to $22,290 for the 2023 variant. Last year's X-Line model has now been discontinued, so we move on to the Soul GT-Line. This cost $22,590 for the 2022 model year and now costs $23,390, an increase of 800 bucks. Finally, we have the Soul EX, which formerly cost $23,490 and will now make a $24,090-sized dent in your wallet, an increase of $600. All prices exclude a $1,295 destination fee.

As mentioned, both the X-Line and the Turbo have been killed off, but Kia notes that many of the features found in those trims have been added to other models in the 2023 lineup. All models are now powered by a single powertrain, specifically a 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, all of which goes to the front axle via Kia's Intelligent Variable Transmission.

The new Soul will go on sale in mid to late summer of this year, assuming that no supply issues get in the way of Kia's schedule. Just make sure you install an aftermarket immobilizer if you don't want to lose your new Kia.
