Modellista, Toyota's in-house tuner, has revealed a stylish body kit for the new Lexus RX.

Unveiled earlier this year, the latest RX is a drastic departure in terms of style. There's no denying it's a looker, but Modellista's various upgrades give the luxury SUV some sporting flair. A front spoiler provides the RX with a more aggressive front end and is matched by the tasteful additions to the rear end.

The revised bumper features chrome trim and integrated reflectors. A rear spoiler can also be specified for the tailgate, along with additional trim around the rear window and the rear quarter panel.

The side skirts are, perhaps, the least successful aspect of the body kit; they're bulky and feature too much chrome for our liking. Overall, the enhancements have been tastefully executed and give the impression that the vehicle has been lowered. It does reduce ground clearance, and the rear sits 2.28 inches closer to the road than before.

Modellista offers two wheel designs for the RX, measuring 20 and 21 inches in diameter. The larger option is a more intricate design and features "superimposed spokes" that provide a sense of depth. It might prove too fussy for some, but it looks expensive and exotic.

Credit where it's due; the Modellista-fettled RX looks far subtler than past vehicles like the Lexus LX 600.

No engine upgrades have been mentioned, but Modellista tends to focus on the exterior styling of Toyota and Lexus vehicles - not surprising since the Japanese automaker owns it.

If you want more ponies under the hood, you'll have to look elsewhere. However, the RX should provide more than adequate performance - especially if you opt for the RX 500h F Sport Performance.

With 367 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, the range-topper can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds, which is impressive for a non-sporty SUV.

Getting back to the RX, this isn't the first time we've seen the new SUV get a custom look. For SEMA 2022, Lexus fitted the newcomer with 22-inch Rays wheels and wrapped it in a striking Matte Violet Metallic.

Sadly, it appears there are no distributors for Modellista in the United States so, if you want to give your RX a unique look, you'll have to jump through several hoops to attain this body kit.
