The all-new Range Rover Sport was revealed last month with the most attractive design to date. Its sleek design is characterized by smooth lines and a certain elegance that you would not typically associate with a sporty SUV. In its most powerful guise, a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 provides 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, but what if you want more aggression, both in terms of styling and performance? That's where the SVR model comes in. We started capturing spy shots of this car last year already, with better images being snapped a couple of months ago. Presumably, Jaguar Land Rover has been occupied with other projects, but it has now returned to testing with new prototypes showing off what to expect from the production model.

As is often the case, the images were captured near the Nurburgring, with the occupants wearing helmets, thereby indicating that some track testing was planned for the day these images were taken. But all that is of secondary importance to the insight we now have on the design. While the regular RR Sport's front bumper has rounded side intakes with strakes, this design is a lot more aggressive, with sharp, upright side intakes flanking the stacked center grilles. We suspect there will be no lower LED lights carried over, with the bottom of the front bumper showing a subtle integrated chin spoiler.

Along the profile, we can't glean much about the design of the rocker panels as these are roughly covered with duct tape. Interestingly, it appears that the rear quarter panels of the SVR will be wider than those of the regular Sport. Then again, this could be a ploy to distract us from a unique taillight design. What's certain is that the tailgate will be different - while the regular Sport places its license plate in the lower bumper, the SVR has it sited just under the window glass. A quad-exit exhaust is par for the SVR course while the diffuser trim will jut out beyond the bumper in a more aggressive way too. Land Rover has also made efforts to hide much of the interior, so we can likely expect some changes here too.

We'll learn more as development continues, but a reveal is only scheduled for early next year.
