This weekend, a massively modified Bentley Continental GT – with over 3,000 horsepower at its disposal – will go drag racing at the Santa Pod Raceway in the UK. With a 10.2-liter twin-turbo Chevy-sourced V8 rated at 3,082 hp, this monstrous Bentley has five times the power of a standard Conti GT and three times that of a Bugatti Veyron. 48-year-old Yorkshireman Steve Nemantas has spent eight months, and around £250,000, making the modifications.

In addition to the engine swap, these include a carbon-fiber interior and a strengthened steel body shell. The monstrous Bentley is expected to clock the quarter-mile in just seven seconds and hit a top speed of over 200 mph. It will race this weekend in the Street Eliminator class, made up exclusively of street legal cars, during the first round of the European Drag Racing Championship.
