W Motors introduces the production variant of hotly-anticipated hypercar at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show.
The Devel Sixteen may have snagged some headlines this week for all the wrong reasons, but the Lykan Hypersport unveiled in production guise for the first time in Dubai this week is the real deal. Having first appeared at the Qatar Motor Show, the Arab world's first supercar is now production ready. The Lykhan Hypersport is limited to seven cars, each priced at a cool $3.4 million, sporting unique touches such as signature diamond encrusted LED lights and a gold-plated hood.
It also boasts a carbon-fiber chassis, gold-stitched leather seats, precious stone inserts and an interactive holographic display system. The car's rear-opening suicide doors have also been seen in action for the first time. Power comes from a RUF-developed 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat six engine rated at 770 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque, which is said to translate to a 0-62 mph time of 2.8 seconds and a 245 mph top speed. With plenty of interest from the US, China and Russia, W Motors is considering extending production beyond the slated seven units.
