Up until the end of 2021, we barely heard a peep out of Toyota/Lexus when it came to electric cars. And then, bang! The Japanese carmakers teased no less than 16 EV concepts, including the upcoming 2022 Lexus RZ 450e (based on the same platform as the Toyota bZ4X). The RZ will be the first all-electric Lexus sold in the US, but we are far more excited for what will come after it.

During that teaser reveal, Lexus showed off what looked like an all-electric LFA successor. That car was only shown from the front, but now Lexus has posted more angles on its Japanese Facebook account. Along with the new pictures, the car gets an official concept name - Lexus Electrified Sport - and a new description: "A model that symbolizes the future of Lexus, focused on challenging proposition."

The Electrified Sport isn't the only model Lexus is ready to shed more light on. Pictured below is the Lexus Electrified Sedan, a car the company says is "The most sophisticated journey ever." This vehicle clearly looks like an electric successor to the Lexus IS sedan, a vehicle that recently received a facelift for the 2021 model year. The concept retains the same overall shape as the IS, but with a more futuristic design and coupe-like roofline. Such a vehicle could go toe-to-toe with the Tesla Model 3.

In addition to the Electrified Sport and Electrified sedan, the Lexus Electrified SUV showed what a larger model above the RZ could look like. Whereas the RZ is compact, this concept looks midsize, possibly with three rows of seats. Such a vehicle would act as the perfect replacement for the current Lexus RX, which came out back in 2015. While teasing the LFA successor, Lexus also showed off a convertible and a low-slung hatchback. These two models have yet to be shown in greater detail, but perhaps the automaker will share more information soon.
