Exclusive to the Japanese market.
Nostalgiaoften has us looking back at the cars of the past and yearning for what oncewas, even when we know that what we've got now is unarguably better. Butthrowbacks are nice, especially on joyous occasions like this one – the ToyotaLand Cruiser's 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the company hasannounced it will return the original SUV to production for one year inJapan, with the necessary safety updates of course.
The4.0-liter V6-powered Cruiser will make 228 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque and come mated to a five-speed manual, with standard part-time four-wheel drive. At$34,600, it seems like a good offer when compared to current models, especiallywith the added benefit of endless sentimentality.
