The Porsche 911 is turning 50 this year, and to mark the milestone for the iconic rear-engined sportscar, a host of celebrations are planned. Added to that will be some impromptu tributes such as this. At the start of the new racing season, the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Brasil team paid its respects to the 911 notching up 50 years in production (as well as marking the 9th anniversary of the competition) by creating a special formation.

At the opening round of the racing series at the Algarve Circuit in Portugal, 38 GT3 Cup cars were strategically placed to form "911_50" prior to the action. Expect to see similar accolades over the coming months as well as something special from Stuttgart.
