Crocheting and knitting (there's a difference) are activities usually practiced solely by grandmas and artists who usually don't turn their attention towards crocheting cars, preferring instead to create sweaters and socks. However, a few rebellious artists and grannies have decided to buck tradition by using their skills to crochet and knit cars. These yarn-covered cars are colorful and creative, if occasionally a little ridiculous to look at. Art by nature is subjective, so decide for yourself whether the knit cars below are masterpieces or missteps.

It's tough to hate on this crocheted Smart ForTwo. On one hand, it's a ForTwo covered in yarn, which is more or less the epitome of lame. On the other hand, it's artistic and colorful, and it doesn't look much worse than some of the other kooky ForTwos floating around the Internet.

Russia is the home of this mysterious and colorful knit car. Like the crocheted ForTwo before it, little is known about this car. What is known is that it makes the dangerous roads of Russia a little brighter, although there seems to be a strong chance that its unique color scheme may cause some drivers to become distracted and cause a pile up.

Lauren Porter is the artist behind this amazing yarn Ferrari. Porter used 12 miles of yarn and a steel frame to complete her epic 10-month project. Fun fact: the Ferrari logo on the car was embroidered by the artist herself.

Agata Olek is an artist who crochets just about everything you can think of. Olek has covered people, furniture and walls in yarn. She occasionally uses her talents to cover entire cars in yarn, creating makeshift car covers that are both colorful and trippy at the same time.
