Hyundai's high-performance N brand was announced about a million years ago, but now we finally know what its flagship car will be. The new Genesis Coupe will be the first model in the company's new sub-brand. It will feature three engine options, with the big ticket being a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 engine kicking out something in the area of 480 horsepower. Other engine options include the recently axed 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.8-liter V6.

Noticeably absent from this engine lineup is a V8, which many thought was coming to the new Genesis coupe. There is also no mention of hybrid technology, which should make petrol purists happy. The new coupe will sport the same chassis as the current iteration but its look will follow the company's "Fluidic Sculpture" design. If the engine specs hold, Hyundai may well have a car worthy of leading its N high-performance brand into battle. Success with the Genesis could open the door for new models and maybe the development of a mid-engine Veloster, should the quirky hatchback survive that long.
