When it comes to tuning Volkswagens and Audis, there's ABT Sportsline and then there's everyone else. The German tuning house has put its unique spin on a wide range of vehicles in the Volkswagen Group. It often seems as if nearly every VW or Audi seems to have gone under the ABT knife, coming back from the operation with a better body and a bigger and more powerful engine. ABT Sportsline created a special Audi R8 specifically for the German police force. The Polizei Fahrzeug's supercar features a tuned 640hp engine, carbon ceramic brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels and a sport suspension, among other goodies. No word from the Polizei Fahrzeug on whether its R8 is strictly for show or for chasing down speeders on the Autobahn.

Soccer moms and dads throughout Europe must have been excited when ABT announced its tuning program for the Volkswagen T5. The tuning company provided engine upgrades for both the van's diesel and gas engines, with the 2.0-liter TSI engine tuned to put out 237hp and 295lb-ft of torque. The tuning company also added an aerodynamic body kit, 19-inch BR alloys and in-house suspension springs.

ABT's tuning program for the new Beetle was more than a year in the making. The wait was worth it as the tuned Bug gets a bump of 40hp in addition to some mechanical and aesthetic upgrades. Mechanical upgrades include a lowered suspension spring kit and double-wall stainless-steel rear silencers. Aesthetic additions include a sporty paint job, numerous wheel options from 18- to 20-inches and a lower front spoiler.

Americans pining for high-powered European station wagons are going to love ABT Sportsline's tuning program for the A6 Avant. The tuning house turned its attention on the wagon's 3.0-liter TFSI supercharged V6 and 3.0-liter TDI V6. The tuned TFSI has 420hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, with the tuned TDI pushes 360hp and a beastly 516 lb-ft of torque. Additional upgrades include an adjustable electric suspension with level control and a bevy of 19- to 21-inch wheel options.

Not even the Touareg is immune from an ABT tuning touch-up. VW's SUV got a new body kit which consisting of a front grille, side skirts, rear apron and a large roof spoiler. The Touareg was given a new sport exhaust system and each of its three diesel engines got a bump in horsepower.
