The 2021 Toyota GR Supra may have enjoyed a power hike from the factory but that hasn't stopped a multitude of tuners from working their magic on the much-hyped coupe this year. A Japanese tuner called SARD revealed its own version of the Supra with close to 500 horsepower, although even that can't match 3D Design's 569-hp Supra upgrade.

The latest company to have its way with the Supra is Manhart, which has just unveiled the Supra GR 550. With plenty of experience in tuning BMWs, it makes perfect sense that Manhart turned its attention to the BMW-engined Supra.

As the name dictates, the GR 550 is even more extreme than Manhart's previous Supra GR 450. While the latter produced a healthy 450 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, the GR 550 turns up the heat with a massive 550 PS (542 hp) and 568 lb-ft from the 3.0-liter turbocharged B58 inline-six engine. These increases are mostly due to the TTE 685 turbocharger.

The GR 550 also receives a Manhart radiator kit from Wagner Turning and an FI Exhaust system that generates an even more intoxicating noise. Manhart did not indicate performance statistics, but considering that the stock Supra six-cylinder already reaches 60 mph in below four seconds, the GR 550 must surely approach supercar levels of performance.

It's no wallflower, either. The Manhart golden yellow foil with red accents and prominent striping in black endows the GR 550 with a far more aggressive look. It sits low on 20-inch wheels with six double spokes. The lowered suspension was completed with the help of H&R. Manhart offers a number of optional upgrades for the GR 550 such as black exhaust tailpipes, individual tuning for the braking system, and an interior that can be uniquely configured. The cabin is otherwise as per the stock Supra.

BMW hasn't ruled out the idea of fitting the new M3's engine (with over 500 hp in Competition guise) in the Supra, but until this possibly happens, Manhart's GR 550 is more than enough to keep power-hungry enthusiasts happy. Manhart's GR 550's performance kit will cost €9,746 on its own, which translates to around $11,862 at current rates while the decal set/vinyl wrap costs €3,411 ($4,151).
