Standard McLaren models aren't what we'd call slow, but the company likes to take things a step further with hardcore, track-focused models like the 650S-based 675LT. The next lightweight McLaren track car will be based on the 570S, and is rumored to be called the 600LT. A test version of the car was spotted several months ago, and McLaren teased a shot of the car's rear to stir up hype for the car. The 600LT is expected to debut this Summer, but the car has been spotted testing on the Nurburgring prior to its full reveal.

From the spyshots, we can see that the car features a fixed rear wing and an extremely aggressive rear diffuser. The most unique feature is a top-mounted exhaust system, with tailpipes that stick out of the engine cover. Much like the 918 Spyder, this exhaust will not only look cool, but sound amazing as well. The 600LT is rumored to be powered by the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the 570S. However, this car will produce around 600 horsepower compared to the base car's 562. Of course, no pricing has been announced. Expect it to be well over the 570S' base price of $188,600.

Like the 675LT, which was restricted to 500 coupes and 500 convertibles, we expect the 600LT to be have a limited production run. Since the car will be rare, we wouldn't be surprised if dealer markups and car flippers bring the price up when the car first becomes available.
