A few months ago, British sports car company Lister unveiled its most powerful model ever in the company's 65-year history: the Thunder. Based on the F-Type, Lister has heavily tuned Jaguar's 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 to produce a devilish 666 horsepower. However, it turns out the model we saw back then was a prototype. Lister has now confirmed the final production car has been renamed the LFT-666. It may not be as dramatic as calling a car the Thunder, but Lister claims the name change was necessary due to "future model mileage."

If you hadn't already worked it out, "LFT" stands for "Lister F-Type", while the 666 denotes the model's horsepower output. Since the prototype was announced, Lister has further refined the 666-hp beast. Each LFT-666 will feature Lister's bespoke carbon fiber body panels, designed to improve the F-Type's aerodynamics.

It will feature exclusive all-new Lister designed carbon fiber body panels, helping to create a lighter and more aerodynamic vehicle. Exclusive Lister replacement parts include the front bumper, front splitter, rear diffuser, rear lip spoiler, rear extended wheel arches a new grille design and new lightweight alloy wheels fitted with Michelin tires.
Lister says replacing these parts have resulted in an unspecified weight loss, improved aerodynamics on both the road and track and faster performance than the standard model. Lister hasn't confirmed performance specifications for the final production model yet, but the prototype could sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.2 seconds, hit 0-100 mph in 6.8 seconds, and reach a top speed of 208 mph.

"Over the past six months the Lister Motor Company has been working hard on developing our Tuning Division, starting with modifying the Jaguar F-Type," said Lister's CEO Lawrence Whittaker. "Originally, we named the prototype the Lister 'Thunder', however, due to future model lineage, all 99-production models will now be known as the Lister LFT-666, a befitting title and one where an intrigued passer-by instantly knows the brake horsepower of each Lister model."

Lister confirmed the first LFT-666 will be ready for customer delivery on October 1st, 2018. The company will also offer wheel and body enhancements for standard Jaguar F-Type models, with kits starting from just £9,750 ($12,795) for the Lister badge, bumper and wheel upgrade. Non-tuned cars with the Lister body enhancements will be known as simply the Lister LFT. Lister is also currently attempting to create the world's fastest SUV based on the F-Pace. Previously known as the Lister Lightning, the super SUV will now be called the Lister LFP.
