In Germany, the annual Essen Motor Show is currently taking place, celebrating some of the best the aftermarket tuning scene has to offer. Edo Competition Motorsport is present with a lightly modified Maserati MC20 supercar on display.

As Edo says, "the MC20 has an extremely harmonious design and does not require any aerodynamic attachments," so the tuner kept things very simple. The standard car's 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6 produces an impressive 621 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. Still, thanks to a new exhaust system and some clever tuning, the example you see here produces almost 700 ponies.

Edo has not revealed the full extent of its tuning upgrades, but we do know that a new exhaust system has been fitted. Developed in collaboration with Capristo Automotive, the stainless steel rear silencer features milled aluminum tailpipes with gold anodized tips measuring 125 millimeters, or 4.9 inches.

We have no audio of this particular system, but Capristo's systems typically sound fantastic. Along with a recalibrated ECU, the Italian supercar now produces 695 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, which helps increase top speed marginally from roughly 201 mph to 205 mph.

A few aesthetic changes have been made for a little more presence.

Gold is a common theme for Edo's builds, so more of the aureate hue accents part of the body. But the only significant change is to the wheels, which are now 11-spoke ultralight forged items measuring 9.5x21 inches in front and 12x22 inches in the rear. The tuner is currently manufacturing these wheels for retail sales, but no pricing has yet been revealed for any of these upgrades.

If Italian supercars aren't your thing, the Essen Motor Show always has loads of tuned German automobiles on display, as well as some OEM options, like the new BMW M2 with M Performance parts. The show ends on Sunday, 11 December.
