It all started back in 1997, when Grand Theft Auto made it possible for us to drive like a maniac and commit the occasional armed robbery. As the game has evolved, players can now joyride and carjack a variety of awesome cars. Original gamers, those with a job at least, are also now at that age when they can stop living in virtual reality. So we picked out seven GTA cars and headed to eBay Motors to find their real-life counterparts that can be bought right now.

Before you check out what's out there, here's a little something else for inspiration purposes. Happy shopping.

It may be called the Truffade Adder in the world of GTA 5, but its real life inspiration is, of course, the one and only Bugatti Veyron. And hey, we happened upon this one-off Veyron Vitesse Transformers Edition up for sale for a cool $2,650,000.

It couldn't be more obvious that the Vapid Bullet is an awesome fan tribute to the second generation Ford GT. Both are fast with supercar performance and the Vapid Bullet is also known in the GTA world for its superior braking. But this Ford GT with Gulf Livery can be had right now for $399,995.

Take a good look at the Obey 9F Cabrio. Clearly it was designed to resemble the Audi R8 Spyder, but with one notable difference. Can you see it? Look at the Obey 9F's headlights. They resemble those found on the Maserati Ghibli. But you'll want this real life 2011 R8 Spyder for $90,000.

The Pegassi Infernus is known to GTA people as the fastest car in the game's history. Of course its direct inspiration is the Lamborghini Murcielago. If you're in the market for one, then this Orange Murcielago is looking for a new home. It'll only cost you $219,995.

Calling all rally car fans out there. Looking for a four-door sports car with all-wheel-drive? The Karin Kuruma is the GTA answer. It may be a bit hard to notice at first, but its rear end is Subaru WRX STI-inspired, while the overall shape and front styling are pure Mitsubishi Evo, which is about to be discontinued. Fortunately there's a 2008 Evo MR for sale for only $28,888.

Of course there are Camaro fans in the GTA world, hence the Imponte Ruiner. Styled after the old F-body Camaro of the 1980s, it even features a T-Top roof. And there happens to be plenty of older Camaros up for grabs, such as this 1989 Camaro RS. It's being sold with no reserve price and the top bid, as of this writing, was only $4,388.

The Bravado Gauntlet can't be mistaken for anything else other than a Dodge Challenger. That distinctive body shape is a dead giveaway. In fact, the Gauntlet even incorporates a few design bits from past early '70s Mopar greats. But if you want a new Challenger right now, there's only one to buy: this 707 hp 2015 Challenger Hellcat for $80,000.
