AMG G63

With 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, the Mercedes-AMG G63 is already one of the most powerful SUVs in the world, even if many of them are bought as more of a status symbol than anything else. However, tuning company Performmaster has come up with a tune for the G63 that lifts outputs to an insane 794 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque.

Previously, Performmaster's exploits included a 730-hp version of the AMG GT four-door coupe. To put those G63 numbers into perspective, it's more powerful than any other stock AMG you can buy, including the fire-breathing AMG GT Black Series. It's also not far behind the 800-hp Brabus AMG G63 unveiled a bit earlier this year.

According to the tuner, the zero-to-sixty sprint time drops from 4.5 seconds in the stock G63 to just 3.9 seconds with the tune, while top speed increases to 162 mph. The company claims that a comprehensive guarantee and a TUV certification come with the purchase of the upgrade.

For buyers who want to shout about the greater performance potential of their G63, Performmaster also offers its own Aersphere Wide Body Kit. This makes the AMG even wider, with the track broadened by 3.9 inches. The wheel arches are fashioned from carbon and are wider, while a hood attachment and a rear spoiler get the carbon treatment, too.

Along the sides, running boards with special LED-lit entry are fitted. Based on the pictures, the darker wheels with red accents are substantially larger than the standard model's wheels. For the first eight customers who order the body kit, they'll have the chance to get behind the wheel of the AMG GT 4 racing car with the assistance of Bernd Maylander, a Formula 1 safety car driver.

While we think the Brabus/Fostla G63 still has the edge for visual appeal, Performmaster's tuned G63 gives it the advantage under the hood and is the perfect tool for embarrassing some serious sports cars away from the traffic lights.
