'82 Mercedes SL by Laurence Gartel

Art Car

Digital artist turns vintage roadster into "Psychedelic Drive".

Some see an existing car as a work of art in its own right. Others see it as a blank canvas. Laurence Gartel is definitely one of the latter. The digital artist has taken a pristine 1982 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL and given it the Art Car treatment. Called the Psychedelic Drive, Gartel’s unique SL roadster would look right at home in the Seventies (or in the background on The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine) with its trippy paint scheme , and will make its debut at the New York Auto Show later this month.
