For those who didn't know, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is also a race. It's not just about gathering Britain's best cars and setting them on a lawn for some rich people to admire. In fact, people build cars specifically for the purpose of getting up Goodwood's famous hill as fast as possible.

The Hoonigan's offering, known as the Family Huckster, is essentially just that. Hoonigan built it to do a number of things, including Gymkhana, but it has also got all the trick aero you'd expect to find on a hill climb car. That's also what made it one of the fastest cars out this year. That and an 862 hp motor out of an old Subaru WRX.

Still, despite all that, there's a total of four cars faster than driver Travis Pastrana and his Family Huckster. If anything, it goes to show how ridiculous the FoS is. One of them was a 1,000 hp EV built specifically for Goodwood, so competition was stiff. This is the first time we've been able to see it work since the car's debut a while ago, and it's certainly a sight to see.

The Huckster uses multiple surfaces in addition to the locations you might expect to find aero. The fenders just in front of the windscreen can articulate up and down to provide downforce directly over the front wheels, which looks to eliminate the need for a front splitter. The same effect occurs at the back, which can be seen when the Huckster exits turn three up the hill.

The top-tier aero on this car is literally that, with an active rear wing that can go totally flush with the bodywork. You'll notice it's not extended in the photo below, despite the rest of the car's aero working to stabilize it mid-skid.

Hoonigan has said the Huckster will be doing its fair share of hill-climbing, and this looks like a good start. It's impossible to know for sure, but given the way this thing was sliding around, we'd say this 4th-fastest run might not have been everything the Huckster had. Then again, the look on Pastrana's face says he was about to "huck" himself. Who knows.

Either way, Hoonigan will continue to show the car off, with its next public appearance (until proven otherwise) to be in the next Gymkhana film, with a likely run up Mount Washington thrown in the mix as well.
