A Camaro's Quest For Six Second Quarter Miles

Drag Race

Street cars and race cars tend to be built very differently, finding a balance is a remarkable achievement.

It’s one thing to build a car that can get a 6 second quarter mile. We’re not going to say anybody can do it, but for a track-only car to make such a run isn’t something we’d call surprising. But what is impressive is this, a 1969 Camaro making a tour of different drag strips around the country, getting 6-second passes and also doing all of the driving between the strips. In the end, the car makes five 6-second passes on 4 tracks and all the driving in between in just 5 days.

It was a 1,000 mile trip, but the car made it and accomplished its goal. Hat tip to Colby for sending us the video.
